Blood Navigator Pilot Data in TRANSFUSION
Blood Navigator Pilot Clinical Data Published in TRANSFUSION, July 2024
A University of Pennsylvania research team published Blood Navigator tablet pilot clinical data in TRANSFUSION. Key findings:
- Optimal blood ratios maintained for 6 hours in massive transfusions
- Reduced time to first TXA (51 to 27 min)

Arcos Contributes to Machine Learning Model for Massive Transfusion
Arcos’ CEO Chris Meador joins researchers from the University of Chicago, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Uniformed Services University, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and University of Pennsylvania to publish “Early Prediction of Massive Transfusion for Patients with Traumatic Hemorrhage: Development of a Multivariable Machine Learning Model”. The Machine Learning model more accurately predicts blood needed for trauma patients than traditional scores using data available within minutes of trauma center arrival. Additionally, the quality of the prediction improves when more data is provided. Click here for Open Access to this Annals of Surgery Open article: Early Prediction of Massive Transfusion….
